Is it worth it to buy a house?

Today on GRS there was a short article about a Rent vs. Buy Calculator from The New York Times.

For someone like me, who is in the process of buying a house, this was particularly interesting. How long, approximately, will it take for me and Ethan buying a house to be worth it? According to the calculator, even the most negative/conservative estimate is less than two years. Good news for us!
